Honey Badger Trail

By Appointment Only

Adult - R100 pp

Starting and finishing at De Wildt Cheetah Lodge, the Honey Badger Trail is a 13.5 km route with an elevation gain of 914meters, averaging a gradient of 1:15. This makes it one of the most, if not the most, challenging trails in and around Gauteng.

Set in the rugged Magaliesberg mountains near Hartbeespoort, the trail begins on the northern slopes, ascending Margaret’s Kloof before tackling the technical climbs and descents of Ann’s Kloof and James Kloof. From there, it crosses over Muizen Nek to the southern side of the range.

a 3km hike or run leads adventurers toward Jubilee’s Kloof, where panoramic views of the Hartbeespoort Dam and its scenic surroundings offer a rewarding pause. The trail then descends Jubilee’s Kloof and finally winds back down Margaret’s Kloof, completing the loop at the Cheetah Lodge.

Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or a fit hiker looking for your next challenge, the Honey Badger Trail promises a thrilling adventure through some of Gauteng’s most striking landscapes
